Gold for Windward at the 2008 WA Tourism Awards!

Tourism industry representatives and guests from around the state gathered last night at the Burswood Entertainment Complex Grand Ballroom for the prestigious Western Australian Tourism awards - the State’s highest honours in tourism excellence. The Gala Dinner, attended by over 850 guests, saw the coming together of the top tourism business throughout Western Australia.
WA’s own Ernie Dingo and Monica Kos led the evening’s proceedings. Awards were presented in 26 categories including a new category Qantas Award for Excellence in Sustainable Tourism which was won by Kooljaman at Cape Leveque.
Following on from their win at the 2007 WA Tourism Elite Awards for customer service, as well as Gold Medal finalist status in the 2007 WA Tourism Awards, Windward Balloon Adventures were announced overall winner out of 11 other finalists in the category for Adventure Tourism. Windward will now represent Western Australia in the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards and the winners will be announced at a Gala Dinner at the Crown Casino in Melbourne on 27th February 2009.
